    Brief description of experience

The pre-service teacher, working under the direction of a classroom supervisor and a university supervisor, plan and teach approximately 6 lessons in the content areas of language and literacy, creative arts, and social studies in the K-2 classroom. Students attend an orientation meeting with the clinical associate prior to the start of the experience. Students work in a K, 1st or 2nd grade classroom for approximately 2 hours, 2 mornings per week, for an eight-week period of time. Work in the classroom increases to 5 mornings per week for approximately 5 weeks at the end of the term. Classroom teachers are responsible for providing information (themes, target QCCs, materials, classroom procedures, etc) and orienting pre-service teachers to the classroom, supervising the classroom/school activities for the pre-service teachers including guidance in planning and preparation for teaching throughout the semester; providing feedback on lesson plans and classroom performance, alerting the clinical associate and/or ECED 3732 instructor of problems, and completing a evaluation form on the pre-service teachers at the end of the experience.
