Placement process
Initial survey of Clinical Associates in area middle schools and high schools for 7-12 placements in coming semester (May for Fall semester; December for Spring semester)
Placements requested and confirmed during first week of semester
Practicum schedule:
Weeks 2-10: M, W, F - 8 AM -12 PM, on campus
T, Th. - 7:30 AM - 12 PM, in school
Weeks 11-15: Mon-Fri 7:30 AM - 12 PM in school
Brief description of experience:
Candidates spend first 9 weeks in school setting "actively" observing and progressively taking on teaching responsibilities. Candidates spend last third of the semester teaching an entire (7-12 day) unit. Candidates also complete an additional 25 hours of field experience time outside the regularly scheduled period of 7:30 AM to 12 PM.
